JustBet.cx is an Australian online casino that accepts Bitcoin. The online casino is now under major scrutiny by Australia’s local media watchdog. Read on to find out why.
JustBet.cx in Hot Water
The online casino has recently been in a bit of hot water after they allegedly breached the nations Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
JustBet.cx makes use of a sports betting feature that provides players with a wide selection of competitions both pre-match and in-play markets. Some of these competitions include matches from the Australian Football League as well as it’s a-League. The online casino’s web address is apparently registered under the Christmas Island Domain Administration.
The Australian Communications and Media authority have, however, launched an investigation on the casino. This is after it was determined that the Internet Protocol (IP) address of JustBet.cx could have its headquarters in Costa Rica, a Central American nation. In which case this would violate the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, as it prohibits the domain from providing its offerings to players based in Australia.
Australia Takes Action on JustBet.cx
The Australian Communications and Media Authority are not taking the situation lightly. The investigation took off soon after the Australian House of Representative’s Andrew Wilkie had earlier asked for the Christmas Island Domain Administration to shut off the site with immediate effect.
Only time will tell on whether or not JustBet.cx will be allowed to continue providing its services of betting and casino games to online gamblers based in Australia.
