After just two months of renovations, the management at Casino Nova Scotia has announced that that the project is almost completed. The $1 million facelift to Casino Nova Scotia in Sydney saw the entertainment space, as well as the restaurant being expanded. Also, a mezzanine level has been added to feature as the Nova Scotia Music Hall of fame.
Sean Coyle, director of operations for Casino Nova Scotia Sydney, explained the renovations as part of giving their patrons a “new feel”.
The Nova Scotia Casino’s main restaurant, The All Star Grille, was hugely affected for five weeks due to the renovations. The daily lunch and supper meals were served in another part of the Casino while the renovators were renovating the regular space. Since then, the restaurant has since reopened.
The Nova Scotia Casino’s gaming Space reduced
Only a few changes were made to the Casino Nova Scotia’s 11,100 square foot gaming floor. The slot machine numbers were reduced to 272 from 276 to make room for marketing, according to Coyle.
The gaming floor still has one Let It Ride table game and four Blackjack tables while a roulette table is reappearing as a table game on the casino floor as well. “We haven’t had (roulette) at the casino for five or six years. We wanted to switch up the tables a little bit,” he said.
Nova Scotia Casino is a Canadian franchise owned by the Great Canadian Gaming Corp. The Sydney outlet currently has close to 130 people working on a daily basis. The Sydney-based Casino is the second of the Canadian franchise casinos, with the other located and in full operational on the Halifax waterfront.
The grand opening of the casino will take place on 16th June as per the estimation from the management.
