New Betsoft Online Casino Game: Mystic Hive
Nearly two months ago, Betsoft released a new online slot game called The Hive. It was innovative and fresh, filled with bright colors and a honeycomb grid.
The game was such a hit that Betsoft followed up with a new edition of the game, one with an entirely different feel called Mystic Hive. Aussie online casinos like King Johnnie and Joka Room will be receiving the new slot this week.
A night vibe takes Mystic Hive in a much different direction than its predecessor. The Hive was bright and filled with the colors of sunshine and bees. The latest Betsoft creation provides a nighttime setting with fireflies. The colors are still brilliant but focused on purple, blue, and dark orange hues.
The soundtrack for Mystic Hive is a smooth and calming one, reminiscent of someone playing a very light tune on an acoustic guitar. Other instruments highlight this and bring it all together.
Mystic Hive is a video slot set for an August 20 release. It offers a 96.13% return-to-player (RTP).
Mystic Hive Payouts
Like its predecessor, Mystic Hive is a video slot that offers a 3-4-5-4-3 hexagonal grid.
The 30 paylines pay both ways, as long as the symbols connect horizontally or diagonally. The highest payout possible is 243x the bet, which adds up to more than $20,000 when playing the maximum.
Players can get into the game for as little as $0.10 per spin, and the options then increase rapidly to $0.50, $1.50, $3.50, $7, $12, $17.50, $30, $37.50, $65, and then the max bet of $90 per spin.
With the bet set at the minimum and using the example of hitting five of a particular symbol per line, the payouts are as follows:
- Green gem = $1.00
- Mushroom = $0.50
- Purple, red, or blue gem = $0.08 each
- A or K = $0.05 each
- Q or J = $0.03 each
The Wild – a honey jar with the word “wild” on it – can substitute for any symbol on the grid.
Mystic Hive Features and Gameplay
The main characters in the game are the Mystic Fireflies. Each spin has the potential to release them, and they each have different potential.
The green firefly is one that summons others to join it around the Mystic Hive. The more that surround the hive, the better the chances of collecting violet nectar.
The yellow firefly is beneficial in that it delivers a stacking multiplier. That multiplier increases to equal the number of yellow fireflies around the hive…plus one. That multiplier only applies to paylines that line up with a yellow firefly.
Finally, the red firefly is the one that fills the Nectar Meter. More of them fill the meter faster. As they surround the hive, they move clockwise one position with each spin. The yellow firefly works to trigger the red one’s activity when lined up with a winning payline.
Beware, though, that the fireflies don’t stay forever. They come from both sides of the screen, and the goal is to get the most work out of them when they’re available. They can stay for as few as three spins or as many as 18.
Speaking of the violet nectar we mentioned, the fireflies gather it and take it to the large glass container on the right of the grid, dropping it in to raise the amount by certain levels. When the container is full, the Nectar Meter announces it and triggers five free spins.
The bonus round begins with the Nectar Burst Spreading Wilds appearing on the grid. They not only serve as a wild for any symbol, they also spread from their initial spot after every spin. They continue to spread throughout the round, increasing the number of wilds as they go.
