PokerStars to Host First-Ever EPT Online November 8-18

For Aussies who always wanted to play in the PokerStars European Poker Tour but couldn’t afford the flights and accommodations of a trip to Europe, there is another option. It doesn’t come with the ambiance of Europe, but it does offer prestigious EPT titles.

Simply get to a country that allows access to PokerStars.

Then, log on and play the first-ever EPT Online. It’s that easy!

Same Events but Online

PokerStars worked with EPT organizers to make the experience as realistic as possible. While they weren’t able to replicate the open-air casino in Monte Carlo or beaches in Barcelona, they were able to take the tournaments themselves – the structure, the options, the rewards – and put them online.

Since it looks like the coronavirus pandemic will be a global problem at least through the first months of 2021, the European Poker Tour organizers (and players) got restless. They put together a series of 20 events patterned after tournaments that players would find at an EPT stop. Winners will also receive EPT trophies, shipped obviously.

Being online, however, PokerStars was able to add some extras. Each tournament has a guarantee, and the total for the series is $20 million.

Also online, PokerStars added a Mini-EPT Online, something impossible to do in live poker events. The tournaments will reflect the same schedule but with buy-ins at 1/100th of the price.

And it will all run November 8-18.

EPT Online Details

The buy-ins for the main EPT Online series range from $215 to $25K. While that may sound pricey to some players, remember that there will be satellites online. There will be many satellites and promotions leading up to and throughout the series.

The $3 million Ticket Machine promotion is already underway, awarding – you guessed it — $3 million in tournament tickets. There are also daily freeroll tournaments that feed into satellites.
