Wpt League Preps For Quarterly Poker Championship

The World Poker Tour might not be able to travel to Australia yet this year, but the WPT League continues to offer live poker throughout the continent. While there are tournaments held in various locations weekly, one event is different and more anticipated than most. That is the WPT League Quarterly Poker Championship.

Get Ready, Gold Coast

The action is set for February 24-28 at the Gold Coast Turf Club Event Centre. The WPT League Quarterly Poker Championship will offer 22 poker tournaments over the course of the five days with a cumulative guarantee of $550K in prize pools. Buy-ins will start as low as $40 and max out at $3K, though there is a freeroll on the schedule, too.

Even more, there will be a Player of the Series leaderboard to award points throughout the series, complete with $25K for the top finishers.

Lynn Gilmartin of the World Poker Tour will be there for the Main Event, which will require a $175 buy-in. That singular event will offer a $200K guarantee.

WPT League Head of Event Management Mitch Caton told myGC emphasized that there will be poker for players of all bankrolls. “All events are open to the public,” he said, “and we encourage those wanting to take part to register for a player account online at au.wptleague.com.”

Players earn points by playing in the events, with more allocated for finishing positions.
