Floyd Mayweather is famous for being an undefeated champion boxer; but now it seems that the renown athlete may be a champion gambler too. Mayweather, an avid gambler, added an extra US$100 000 (about AU$134 000) to his bank account after winning a jackpot on a video poker machine in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The athlete is said to have maxed his bet on every hand (a total of US$125 per hand with the player being able to play ten hands at a time), ultimately winning the jackpot after hitting a royal flush. The odds of receiving a royal flush in the game is 40 000 to 1, making Mayweather’s win extremely lucky.
Floyd Mayweather Fond of Gambling
Mayweather’s love of gambling is well documented. The athlete has been known to place big bets (some even exceeding AU$1 million) on highly promoted competitive sports matches, often posting betting ticket stubs on Instagram. Some of the sports the boxing star has previously bet on include American football and basketball.
Despite Mayweather’s success in the ring (his record stands at 50-0), the athlete is rumoured never to have bet on himself, believing that it might jinx himself.
Floyd Mayweather vs McGregor 2: Another Gamble?
Mayweather has retired from professional boxing (and has seemingly taken up casino gaming as a new career). Despite this, he will supposedly put his undefeated streak on the line in another bout against UFC champion, Conor McGregor.
Mayweather has already faced McGregor in a traditional boxing match and won. However, the athlete may now be looking at fighting the athlete again but this time in an MMA fight. Currently, it is unknown if this match will actually take place, especially with McGregor’s recent legal trouble.
If this matchup does actually take place, Aussie players can be sure that Casino-Aus will keep them posted. Also, if you feel like making any sports bets of your own, be sure to head over to our sports betting page for a list of the best sports betting sites.
